Thermowells are intended to protect temperature measuring or control elements and are useful in case of maintenance or replacement of the elements, allowing the removal of the instrument without requiring the interruption of the production line.
The type of thermowell (from pipe or bar stock) and the material are determined by pressure, temperature, the process fluid. Since these elements are made for specific applications, they can be made for any type and size of sensor ensuring minimum air gap between it and the walls of the thermowell, so as to ensure maximum measurement efficiency.
