| In brief The magnetic indicator (also known as "by-pass") makes it possible to visualize, and control the liquid content in a tank, without the presence of mechanisms in contact with the fluid, relying on the principle of communicating vessels, which states that regardless of the size of the vessels, the level will always be the same in both. The float, free inside the indicator transmits its movement to a chain of external two-color magnetic flags-in a transparent casing-that rotate to provide a visual indication of the level. The same can actuate one or more external reed contacts physically placed at the levels to be monitored, or an external chain of reed contacts to achieve continuous monitoring. |
